Miss Quek had either forgotten to tell us (or i feel she did not say this before), but yet she said it should be expected for us to know, so just a reminder.

For NMR,
the number of protons given may not be the 'real' amount. In the sense it is to the lowest 'emprical' terms.
For example, it is given that 1 proton has a singlet signal, 3 protons have a doublet signal. The actual case may be that its 2 protons having a singlet signal and 6 protons having a doublet signal.

So do take note!
May be more reminders along the way so take note!

Class Chalet!

Problem I Am Facing: I have no idea what kind of chalet to book. There's a $200, $160 and a $90 one. It's in order of decreasing size. And yep, our last class chalet was the $90 one.

hey everyone!i am back!!!HAHAHa.... actually wanted to sent this piece of beautiful post to the newspaper one...but then, i lazy to post it lah...hahaha...so..this story is about pen and pencil....there is going to be deep thinking here...

remember the times when we were in primary sch where we were only allowed to use the pencil instead of the pen? maybe not everyone was like me.. but, when in primary three or four, the teacher finally allowed us to use pen, i was so excited... but now, using the pen is like so daily thing to us....

have you ever wondered why when we are small, we are only allowed to use the pencil instead of the pen? well...the reason is very obvious right? cause pencil is more easy to erase. While the pen, you have to delete it using liquid paper...which will cause a "scaR'' on the piece of paper while the pencil, you can easily clear it without a scar. this is the same when we are small, when we make mistake, parents keep on saying alright when we do something wrong..and they forgive us... but, when we grow older, things are not alright anymore... when we do something wrong, there is bound to be some form of scar.... so therefore, do not anything wrong that will make you regret : )

Breathing. Without it, we wouldn't even be here. It is the first thing we do when we're born, and the last thing before we die. There are two forms of breathing: conscious, and unconscious. Conscious, when one does Qigong, Yoga, or mediation; unconscious when you sleep, exercise, or are deeply immersed in other activities. You may think this is bullshit, and very much obvious. But, my friends, do you know exactly *how* to breathe?

From infants to the age of about 7, we perform abdomen breathing. This is a form of deep and slow breathing. Notice a young baby asleep, and you'll see it's chest AND stomach rise and fall. Above that age, we develop chest breathing, a short and quick form of breathing. Most of us, unconsciously are performing chest breathing.

To feel abdomen breathing, try this: Lie down on a bed/sofa. Place your left hand on your ribcage, and the other in the middle of your stomach. Take a slow deep breath from your nose. Let the breath sink into the stomach. Feel your right hand rising up naturally? Exhale from either your mouth gently, seemingly making a "ha" sound, like you are expelling the air out. That is abdomen breathing. The reason for the expansion of your stomach is because your diaphram, when expanding, is pushed to it's full length. Repeat it a few times. Feel better? The extra oxygen inhaled into your lungs increase the oxygen carried by the blood, and relaxes the brain.

So, next time you're stressed or in angst, open up your window, take a few deep and slow abdomen breaths, you'll feel better. I promise. Incoperate this into your daily activities, and in no time, you'll feel more refreshed and energetic.

people have drop different subjects this year.. i guess, that is what that is pulling us apart.. thining about it, i haven talk to people in the drop physics group for a long time le.. sometimes it is really saddening to see that we are unable to unite together as a class as we did last year.. last year.. seems so fast away...

but i really think that we have to cherish the time that we have together... we could do all sorts of stupid things together.... it has been long since we have done something stupid together without feeling stuipid..haha...

anyone that has the feeling that they want to do something stupid? and fun at the same time? i am on!!!!!hehe...i am always wacky you know... : P

Sorry, everyone.

I'm sure by now, you all have noticed such an enormous change in class unity compared to last year. Sure, what we did for class unity looks very stupid (such as doing the JJ dismiss at the end of every Friday), but well, it sure does keep the stress demon away.

Holding outings is never an easy affair. I fully understand that many members of the class have other engagements, and I also realise some of us can't fully "click" with some S12ers. In some way, lots of cliques have formed in the class.

My passion and dream of a very united class that share laughters and joy together is gone, though it would be very helpful to have such a group during these tough, stressful periods of study. They are gone because mainly of my own orientation group, and I simply find it just too difficult to trying to do what I want to do by myself totally.

I admit... Although you all were with me throughout the school hours everyday, I rarely get to talk to any of you, save the dropped-Physics group.

Well, the only constant is change, so who are we to resist change? Main thing now is to focus on our studies and hopefully we gain some kind of momentum that gets us some As soon.

getting quite stressed up these few weeks..with tons of work to do that i can't even use my fingers to count.. (can i lent your toes too?)herm..i have become numb to the test results that i have been receiving nowadays. 4/30 ? 8/30? doesn't affect me.. and the progress report? how does O O F sound to you?

it doesn't mean that i didn't study.. the fact is that i study a lot..but i don't know why, for some reason or another, i just didn't do well...and the worst part is that i practically knew how to do the qns, but i just screw it up at that point in time..i know some of you out there has the same experience...but, we have to carry on...fight on..this is a battle that we can't lose.

so, don't back out... let us fight this war together!!!! arza arza fighting!!!!!

hi s12! it's been monkey years since i last blogged here - hmm.. i'm not blogging very often on my own either actually. anyway, i'm here today to apologise to all of you.

if you've no inkling of what exactly i'm talking about, i shall tell you now. i'm sure you guys noticed of my frequent absence from school. and if you're thinking that i'm just weak and unfit for school, i'm telling you that i am weak. weak in the mind. i was sick. sick in the head. i ponned school.

i am stressed i think.

i thought i was very behind because i keep thinking that last year, to me, was as good as zero. i thought it was difficult to catch up. That's why it puts me off when i see so so so much homework to settle on my to-do list - because i keep procrastinating and stock up on outstanding homeworks - while the need for consistent revision is presses due to class tests and tutorials. i wanted to rest. but it seemed more like i was escaping when i stopped doing homework, started ponning school because i couldnt find the reason for me to attend lessons. i wanted to hide. from econs. from homework. from teachers. from classmates. i wanted to be as tiny [i already am actually] and as unnoticable as possible.

it was ironic. on one hand, i know it's wrong to do whatever that i did. on the other hand, i just didnt want to do anything and therefore kept procrastinating non-stop. also, i know i'll be able to catch up and improve in time before a level, but i just couldnt find the strength to get myself started.

know what i did during that period? i'd sleep till as late as 2pm when i pon school and yes, while you guys are still slogging hard in tutorials and pinching yourselves awake during ultimate boring lectures. you must be thinking sleeping for such long hours is really skiok. it is after a day of hardwork. but for my case, sorry to say, it's not. very often, my body has already been fully re-charged. it's just the mind that doesnt allow it to function like a typical student. it's painful to sleep that late because my body is not tired already. because i'm forcing myself asleep. because i didnt want to do anything. because i didnt even feel like playing. because i didnt want to wake up and face reality. becuase i wanted to escape.

even when i attend school, i'd go home telling myself i should start on something but end up slacking of doing nothing. if there's anything i've done, it must have been wasting time. i think i've wasted the most amount of time anyone can ever waste in their youths.

result? i'll be stating the obvious ya? in case you're too smart to infer, my outstanding-homework-meter has reached an all time high. i fell further behind. i felt worse. because there's now more to catch up and i'll have to pay for the consequences on my own.

dear s12ers, i'm writing all these down because i felt i've demoralised the class a great lot and i'm sorry. this also serves as a word of caution that anytime you feel you're going to burn out and break down, stressed, unable to cope or unable to breathe, talk to someone. get help. you'll be too weak to decide for yourself correctly what is the best move to take. so get someone to help you recover and tide through this treacherous process. if you need someone to pull you a long, get someone. just make sure you dont drag him/her down. that'll be double the sin. two minds are better than one after all. jia you! a level is our final destination [guys: is this game nice? is it like a level?], it's do or die. so, we only have one path to choose from this very moment. like it or not, it can very well craft out our fate. start now. chiong liao. whatever the result, we will want to know that we've tried our best and leave jj and s12 with no regrets. jia you!

for ms bay, siew ming, zhen wei, kok mun, pei woon and serene, thanks for being around when i was struggling. really, thank you so much. i'm feeling better now. not too sure if i'll be able to sustain this because i've fell back a couple of times and i'm afraid already. but still, i'll have to try and i want to. i cant just give up like that. i dont want to lose yet. the battle hasnt even started, i cant admit defeat. sounds nice ya? but it's tough. i'll need to be very strong to achieve all that, but i'll try. and at any point of time, if you guys see me being to fall back again, do me a favour, smacked me awake please. i think that's the most straight-forward way.

Well, everyone seemed to be feeling stress about a lot of things.
And studies seemed to be contributing a large proportion. BOO.
You may feel that you are not good in studies
You may feel sad about not getting good results
You may feel unprepared about the coming tests or exams
You may feel 'lonely' and 'alone'

But you are definitely not alone, these feelings may be due to:
Not enough time to sleep
Keep wanting to just relax
Just want to enjoy
Not feeling the 'need' to study
Hard to find time to revise
Heaps of hw to be done
Mountains of tests to climb

Well, this of course might not be the case for everyone.
Just some feelings that i saw or had experienced myself.

Really no one is alone
Will help each other and support one another all the way.
We need and will get through this. Dun give up.

We just need to really tell people of the troubles.

I must admit, the rain ruined our chalet! But nonetheless, almost everything ran smoothly, ya?

So did anyone enjoy the chalet as much as I did?

Maybe not. But then, we are most probably still sticking together as a class next year, so I really hoped next year's chalet could be better.

We still got one whole month of holidays ahead of us.

hi there!! updates on xiao yuan superstar!

i was only singing the first two lines, then it went "ting ting! teh!!" yup, got kicked out. i sang hai pa, and started from the beginning of the song. according to friends i sounded quite soft, but that's the front part of a sad song and i thought it was correct to sing it that way. maybe the judges felt the front part soft and boring that's why i got kicked out. actually only one judge pressed the bell. my judges were chen wen cong, jeff wang and su zhi cheng [cavin]. chen wen cong was the one who pressed the out bell if i'm not wrong. jeff wang and cavin were looking at the small monitor that shows the person performing on stage still and seemed to be listening. but ya, chen wen cong pressed out. they gave no feedbacks so i didnt know what exactly was the reason to be kicked out.

it was sad of course, but relieve as well. at least i now know it's over, no more stage, no more anxiety =) yup! that's all for today, classes may be dismissed once civics tutor are ready, thank you and have a nic e day.

hi guys!

last week i asked yin sing to join me in auditioning for xiao yuan superstar, but she said no. when marge also told me her mum didnt allow her to go for the audition because she was already too busy with school work. yup, i thought perhaps i'm just not fated to join this competition.

yesterday during training, my volleyball captain, hui fen suddenly asked me if i'll be joinging xiao yuan superstar. then she invited me to go along with her. wow! this invitation came to me like a really good chance. it's like telling me it's destined for me to take part. ahah.. some superstition? perhaps.

hmm.. ya, i think i'll probably go for this friday's audition at junction 8. hey s12, i'll jia you ok! =)

elo 05s12ers, it may be the last few weeks we are spending together and the last odstacle we are going to brave through together as one, one s12. i will treasuer the rest of this year, i know all of us will as well. i am certain ALL 05s12ers will be promoted to j2! this i am very sure! jia you guys!

this is probably the most united class i've ever had, unfortunately, we are, apparently, breaking apart. i dont know, we still eat together as a class, laugh and share jokes, but cliques cant help but evolve, this is , however, an inevitable process that happens almost everywhere. the good thing is, we manage to somehow connect to each clique still. tian xia wu bu shan zhi yan xi, we'll part still now that some of us had dropped a subject.

entering 05s12 has made me realise what a class really is. c-clustered l-laughters a-amiable s-share s-smile. i found all these in 05s12. really. i dont want to leave this class next year. i'll miss the unity, jokings, lameness and laughters we've shared. i spotted some changes in me upon getting into 05s12. i no longer have to stick to my closest friend for classes or lessons because it's the same where ever we sit, everyone is a friend. i'm not sure if you guys realised this, but i did and i thought it is awesome! that's why i love 05s12!

in addition, we meet all sorts of people here.

yi fan will probably leave the deepest impression in me. he walks like a walking dead, plays like a freak and dances like a pile of shattered bones. i got shocked by him the first time i saw him placing his head on the lecture theatre desk. that's why i love 05s12.

kok mun, you are truly the best male friend i've ever made, so fun being with you, i promoted you to a buddy. it really is different having you in my life, you are a sensitve and caring little chap and i am so very sure you will find a lady as nice, if not nicer, one day. love is not a desperation, it's is something that comes deep down from your heart saying, "i love you". i sincerely wish you the best in your future endeavours.

All right, I am back to keep this blog and most importantly our class alive, not that I can do much now.

Anyway, it's been such a long time since I post on this wonderful blog on ours. Wouldn't it be a pity to lose it due to our laziness to update?

Okay okay, lets see, what has happened thus far for 05S12. Well, a lot of things sure has happened. Exam stress has kicked in, most of us broke down and some of us dropped a subject already, which means our 05S12 would definitely split up next year.

This kinda pain my heart.

But nevertheless we still got about 3 months ahead, with the end-of-year holidays to play till we go SIAO! And yes, I will be in charge of the planning of the activities once again!

And this time, I will organise the activities and I don't care even if hardly anyone turns up. At most I will just play with Yi Fan on a lonely beach (no, Gary, no! Not you!).

Here are the possible line-ups:

First of all, we have the chalet in mid November. Hopefully I will be able to get Ms Bay to help us get hold of a chalet, or your parents are able to help, please do let me know.

Second, we will, finally, go for a Sentosa outing! What's a class without going to Sentosa even once? That would be so pathetic right?

Thirdly, if all goes well, let's go for a camping trip at one of the islands of Singapore! Well, this one will be problematic due to safety reasons. A lot of planning must be done.

Fourthly, we will have a farewell party with lots of final activities. Well, it's time to say goodbye on that day since we will all go our separate ways.

Till the holidays, please study hard, people! I am sure you all can make it! And I ain't going to slack much either. I will try to catch up with other aspects of my life and focus more on my welfare duties.

Final words, would you want to organise a study group at NTU, I would be glad to help call up everyone. Thank you.

hello dearest 05s12ers!
lecture and common tests are all coming our way. so i was thinking, it really is time to put aside all the madness and start serious studying. the idea of forming study groups struck me! but since not everyone lives near each other, i hope, if possible, people living in the same area would form their own study group at a place convenient to them. i strongly believe that study groups would help us get started somehow, although different people prefer to study under different conditions [i.e. alone or at home]. however, i think it's still good to give it a shot. at least, we get to trial whether it'll helps us progress. i'm forming one for the jurong west area. all are welcome to join us though. enrolment is completely free!

The first week of our Term 3 just flew past! And we are still alive!

Anyway, it's been a rather eventful start, with the disastrous Chemistry SPA (I am sure you all felt the same) and the signing up of our IDP games.

And next week, it's gonna get even hotter. Firstly, we got our fitness tests coming up, mostly for the girls. Us boys only have shuttle run left. Secondly, we have our big tests approaching. Next week would be a good time to study up!

CIP is delayed to two weeks later, well after all the tests we are going to have. I am sure we can have a class outing squeezed after it.

Then, once again, we debate on the issue of our class t and I have a feeling it ain't going nowhere unless somewhere really take charge of it.

Chinese oral examinations approaches and everyone is talking about it.

Youth Day on Monday and thus, there is no need to go to school. Enjoy your rare holiday!

It's gonna be hectic for the next few months. Fight on, S12! Don't give up until we meet a dead end!

Regrettably, there was not a single S12 class outing this holidays. True, it's all my fault for being pessimistic and cancelling the one and only outing we had.

But we must look forward to the future.

Undoubtably, I still have tons of welfare stuff which I set out to do but never completed.

And I just had a new idea yesterday.

Since everyone would turn up on 23 June for the GP common test, I gather we should have a class photo-taking session. This would perhaps be the only day when all 25 of us are together!

Lots of tests are coming up soon. We must really get into pre-exam mood soon and we shall strive together as a class for lots of As. Thus, I expect lots of studying here and there right?

Thus. let us all work hard to get promoted to JC2 and stay in the same class!

Yesh, we sang and screamed our hearts out at Jurong East KBox last friday. As usual, when I get high, I don't give a thing about my image... and thus my reputation has been tarnished!

yup! i'm still up at dis hr. simply cant slp man. i slpt till 8 when i woke up to do hmwk. completed maths assignment 8 n econs mcq. speaking abt maths, reminds me abt wat happened during maths lesson today. i didnt do math assignment 8. was busy chatting online, slping, do other hmwk.. so i didnt complete maths. ms ho found out n said sth to me. actuallu, wat she said was correct! but we all noe her.. she has dis agitated n harsh tone in her voice. n it's her voice dat made me felt worse. i mean i'm sorry not to be able to complete her hmwk already. with her tone, it made my day. dat incident got me thinking.. "hav i been copping? will i be able to carry on with 4As? will i survive in such a hectic time-table? will i be suffocated by e hmwks dat're infinitely flooding my diary? will i.."

Some Confessions

This is a rather personal post. I shall write about my feelings and thoughts of S12. I hope you guys and gals can follow and do a personal reflection on S12 too.

When I first found out that I was in a class of so many girls, I was very happy for a very common reason. Chio bu galore! But what I was afraid of was a class which was split into many cliques. All my previous classes were like this, un-united and separated.

But thankfully, we managed to stay together and managed to have a few bonding sessions despite the insane timetable. We have so far one class outing and all of us are demanding more more!

I volunteered for the welfare rep because I didn't want to be in yet another not-enthu class. I wanted everyone to be real close to each other and that every minute spent together is fun. I believe that we can go through our studies together and I hope in the future, when the true tests come, we will cling onto each other and lend each other our support.

These are my hopes, but the challenges are great. Cliques will no doubt form, it is inevitable. I shall try my best, though, to make S12 a team. The class chalet has failed, because I have failed to plan it early. The class T is delayed, and I fear it will be delayed much further.

Therefore, I think I will really need some people's help from time to time, such as an secret upcoming event. I have already employed the help of one of us. I hope in the days to come, when I come to you people to help, you will lend me a hand.

But my fears are unnecessary. What S12 have shown thus far is extraordinary to the very extreme. We have had so many lunches together at the wooden tables and so many interactions and cheers.

The Pizza Hut outing too, was a success, as a large majority of us turned up and had quite a lot of fun. We had one milk game and cheered and did JJ clap whenever the teacher was gone from class.

I have to say thank you for being so cooperative and enthuiastic.

I really look forward to everyday with S12. You people made my school life colourful and redefine the meaning of an united class.

Soon, we will have the upcoming Pre-U Seminar and 12 people, including me, will be involved as student helpers. I hope it will turn out to be a success and the school from henceforth, will have an even higher opinion of us.

Anyway, there will be something happening this month, organised once again by welfare. I hope it will be big!

Miss Bay just told me today that some people from our class will be involved with the Pre-U Seminar as helpers. Well, our duties are basically some ushering and coordinating. Going for the briefing tmr, so will tell u all more about it maybe on thursday! Miss Bay had selected 12 people from our class to be involved with me and Serene in charge.

Fresh recovered from yesterday's raging celebrations at Jurong Point Pizza Hut, our devoted journalist Mao Mao reports the first official S12 class outing!

It was amazing, so many pizzas were eaten in mere minutes! We had fun, we had jokes, we had games and most importantly we had enjoyed ourselves!

Also we have the honoured presence of Ms Bay in our little party! Hooray!

Gosh, We Are So Busy

Yep, homework is piling up and more and more of our classmates are getting sick. Take care, people, weekend is the best time to heal up and handle your more difficult homework.

Anyway, I just found out that we have to pass all our 4 subjects to continue as a class next year. I am sure everyone can do it! Don't you people want to stay as a class? S12 is really one in a million!

On Monday, there shall be a newcomer into our class, thus making our strength 25, the maximum. Good news for girls, it's a male! Now, stop drooling. I really wonder who he is. Anyone knows?

Hey, if you people really cannot cope with your studies or have some emotional problems you just want to let out, you can always find me, the welfare rep! I shall try my best to help in whatever way I can!

The CIP proposal is still largely in production. The last I know, we are intending to do clean-up for residents. We shall discuss more on this next week.

Studying and doing homewok has taken on a new meaning in JJC. I feel that we are really becoming full-time students nowadays. I hope things will get a little better in the weeks to come!

we've been thru' many many tutorials n lectures as a class n i find every moment we've shared together very fun n interesting. esp dat day when we played e ji3 niu2 nai3 game on e grandstd. haha.. seriously speaking, i think dat's a very dumb game.. but i felt it kind of contributed a great part in bonding our class together n braking e ice mountain. if i rmb correctly, dat was also e 1st time i saw gary smile. haha

gary, if u're seeing dis, "nice smile u got there! keep smiling!" =)

hmm.. 05s12.. i m very grateful to all dat u guys hav done for me n zhen wei. in fact, i was left speechless when mao mao told e class to make cardborads[placards] for us.. haha.. thou u guys didnt hold them up during semi-finals [i noe it's embarrassing to do so..haha], i'm already thankful dat u guys actually gave up some of ur precious time [hmwk time] to make e cardboards for us. thanks! thanks! n thanks!

I am currently studying the possibilities of a bonding session and how to implement it.

It is necessary to prevent cliques from forming. The only way to stop the class from being divided is to make all of us know everyone so well that we feel like one big family.

Some Crazy Ideas

I have some weird and wild ideas for us all, wonder if you people will like it?

Firstly, lets do a friendship dance when we have the time!

Secondly, we should have something like a class t or class cap soon. Something we can show off in school that we are one united class!

Thirdly, do you all want to have the class outing this upcoming Saturday. We can book the NTU staff lounge, all thanks to Gary of course. Moreover, there is a pool table, a tv and should be some chairs for us. We could play poker cards, mahjong, console games, pool and other wonderful games there. We could even have a potluck session!

Lots of possibilities!
